Third Annual BioPharma Forum
Co-hosted by the NC State College of Management\'s BioPharma Management Initiative and the North Carolina Biotechnology Center
The Third Annual BioPharma Forum will be held Friday, October 26, 2007, 7 a.m. to 12 noon at the North Carolina Biotechnology Center in Research Triangle Park, NC.
This annual event is co-hosted by the BioPharma Management Initiative at North Carolina State University’s College of Management and the North Carolina Biotechnology Center.
The BioPharma Forums bring together key industry leaders with students, faculty, entrepreneurs, and investors for a frank discussion of the management issues that are unique to the biotechnology, medical technology and biopharmaceutical industries.
Leading this year’s discussion are:
- Michael D. Kowolenko, Ph.D., senior vice president, pharmaceutical operations and technology, Biogen Idec
- Thomas Nagy, president, Novozymes North America, Inc.
- Daniel A. Pelak, president and chief executive officer, InnerPulse, Inc.
- William Sharbaugh, chief operating officer, PPD, Inc.
“This industry requires uniquely skilled managers and leaders that understand the convergence of life sciences and business,\" says Richard Kouri, executive director of the BioPharma Management Initiative at North Carolina State University’s College of Management.
\"The BioPharma Forum provides those in the industry an opportunity to meet and have meaningful conversation with their peers and to learn from each other’s real-world experiences.
It also provides students in the BioPharma Management MBA concentration the opportunity to hear first-hand the issues faced by industry leaders, to help them better prepare for biopharma management careers.” More than 200 people attended the 2006 BioPharma Forum.
