CSCMP Upstate Roundtable Presents: State of Logistics Outsourcing

Come join us for dinner and a presentation. Dr. C. John Langley Jr. will discuss major findings from the recently-completed "2007 Twelfth Annual Third-Party Logistics Study." The study involves customer surveys and workshops with logistics executives in North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America. Key topics include State of Logistics Outsourcing 2007, Collaboration, Emerging Markets, and Information Technology. Overall, the study is considered to be an important source of information not only on the topic of outsourcing, but also of global supply chain trends.

Dr. Langley is Professor of Supply Chain Management at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. Dr. Langley is a former President of the Council of Logistics Management, and a recipient of the Council’s Distinguished Service Award. He received his Ph.D. degree in Business Logistics from Penn State University. Dr. Langley has co-authored several books, including Supply Chain Management: A Logistics Perspective, an 8th edition textbook scheduled for publication in 2008.

Dr. Langley is widely regarded as someone with his finger on the pulse of the industry. It will be very educational for manufacturing and transportation professionals to hear what he forecasts for the coming years.
