Source Technologies’ Secure Print Module Adds More Security for On-Demand Printing

Assists With the Challenges of Implementing Compliance Requirements For Sarbanes-Oxley and HIPAA

CHARLOTTE, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Source Technologies, a leading provider of integrated solutions that help companies manage secure, real-time information and transactions, announced the availability of its Secure Print Module. As part of its Secure Document line of applications, the Secure Print Module facilitates the secure storage of printer resources such as authorized signatures and specialized fonts.

“Compliance regulations such as HIPAA and Sarbanes-Oxley are major concerns for organizations printing time- and information-sensitive documents,” said Snehal Vashi, Vice President of Software Development, Source Technologies. “By utilizing Secure Document printers and applications, organizations not only benefit from new security enhancements, but they also benefit from an easy-to-use interface. By storing information on a thumb drive separate from the main components, on-demand printing can be easily managed while remaining highly secure.”

The Secure Print Key is a thumb drive used to store encrypted printer resources such as signatures, fonts and overlays. When the key is inserted into the Secure Print Module, the printer resources are decrypted and downloaded to the printer’s RAM. After the print job is complete and the key is removed, the resources are deleted from the printer’s memory to eliminate the risk of fraud. The Secure Print Module connects via USB to any laser printer. Companies who wish to secure authorized signatures, secure fonts and other sensitive information can utilize this device department- or enterprise-wide.
