Savannah Music Festival Announces Winners and Finalists in 2008 Design Competitions

Winning Savannah College of Art & Design Submissions in Poster Design, TV Commercial, Jewelry and Trophy Design Yield Cash Awards and Public Exposure of Work

Savannah, Georgia – Due to the level of interest in poster design and TV commercial competitions in recent years, the Savannah Music Festival (SMF) added two new design contests to its 2008 marketing plan. Local trophy and jewelry design students were also engaged in competitions to create materials supporting the 2008 music festival. Winning entrants and finalists receive cash awards for their work in addition to seeing their work used around the City leading up to the 2008 event.

“These competitions are an excellent way for Savannah’s aspiring art students to participate in real-life marketing design projects,” says SMF Director of Marketing & PR, Maria Lancaster. “These processes are not only a lot of fun, but also always bring about new ideas and interpretations of the SMF brand as it continues to evolve. We’re lucky to be able to engage such a diverse group of young artists and designers.”
