Former Power Services unit of Reliance Electric and Dodge now independent, expands its
national network of regional service centers
(Greenville, SC—February 12, 2008) Integrated Power Services, a national leader in the service and repair of electric motors and mechanical power transmission components, has acquired Electro-Mec. Electro-Mec is a third-generation, family-owned power services company based in Indiana, Pennsylvania, offering motor and mechanical repair, new product sales, field services and precision machined products. Terms were not disclosed.
Integrated Power Services (IPS) is the former Power Services unit of Reliance Electric and Dodge, leading manufacturers of industrial electric motors and power transmission components. Headquartered in Greenville, South Carolina, IPS now has twelve regional service centers across the country, offering coast-to-coast coverage and 24/7 dependability to over 1,400 customers across a wide range of capital-intensive industries. Electro-Mec will operate as an IPS company, enhancing the company’s full-service capabilities, particularly in new product sales, small motor repair and precision machined products.
“We talked with the management of thirty-nine prospective buyers before my brothers and I decided to become part of IPS,” said John Grube, Electro-Mec’s President. “It was the right match in terms of complementary experience, shared values and a vision of the future. Electro-Mec was built on an entrepreneurial spirit and a commitment to service, and that’s not going to change.”
“We’ve always admired Electro-Mec’s management team, strong market presence and the way they do business,” said Brian Brehmer, IPS President and CEO. “This acquisition fits perfectly with our strategy, which is to build a national network of service centers with industry-specific experience, technical resources and capabilities, and coast-to-coast coverage for 24/7 dependability.
“Electro-Mec lets us offer important new capabilities to our customers and prospects, and we’ll be able to provide Electro-Mec customers with even more motor repair services, particularly in medium and high voltage motors. The key to this deal—what brought us together unites us moving forward—is the shared commitment to quality workmanship and customer service. We plan to do great things together.”
