InnoVenture 2008 Features Expertise and Resources Sought by Global Corporations and Universities

InnoVenture 2008 will feature the expertise and resources of seventeen major southeastern companies and universities. InnoVenture 2008, the fifth annual innovation conference, will be attended by over 700 people on March 25 and 26, 2008, at the Carolina First Center in Greenville, SC.

Five major corporations will have exhibits and presentations defining the expertise and resources that they seek from attendees at InnoVenture: Michelin Americas, Milliken, GE Energy, BlueCross BlueShield of SC, and Zeus Industrial. Together these companies have identified three specific areas of focus: advanced materials, large scale computing, and sustainability.

"InnoVenture is an opportunity to get an inside view of what global corporations are seeking and what makes then tick, which normally can be very difficult to do," said John Warner, President of Swamp Fox LLC, producer of the InnoVenture conference. "InnoVenture is a unique chance for entrepreneurs to find business opportunities, faculty to find research partners, and students to talk with potential employers. Southeastern representatives of these corporations at InnoVenture are contacts into global organizations and opportunities."

Other major InnoVenture participants will include SC Launch!, a seed capital investor, Noro-Moseley Partners, one of the southeast's largest venture capital firms, and Sequence, a Charleston,SC investment banking firm. University participants presenting strong talent and intellectual property include Clemson and UNC Charlotte. Service providers with tremendous expertise include Nexsen Pruet, Elliott Davis, Business Vitals, Charter Business, TiBA Solutions, and M33 Integrated Solutions.The SC Department of Commerce is a major participant in InnoVenture helping to create the soil conditions for innovation.
