S.C. Appraiser Earns Royal Recognition
COLUMBIA, S.C. (February 2008) — Michael Dodds, managing partner of Integra Realty Resources’ Columbia and Greenville offices, has earned global acknowledgement for his outstanding service and commitment to the realty profession from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
Based in London, the global RICS leads its 146 member countries and the general realty profession in addressing all aspects of land, property, construction and associated environmental issues. Membership numbers 145,000 globally, but there are only 2,500 distinguished professionals from the Americas “who meet and maintain the most rigorous standards to the public advantage,” according to RICS.
Despite the organization’s presence in every continent, RICS holds local connections to South Carolina. In May 2007, UK officials used data from surveys of neighborhood parks and residential property values in Greenville to support the need for better research on their own urban parks and other valuable properties. In recognition of these international ties, Dodds plans to use his membership as a stepping-stone for cross-cultural business opportunities.
“We fully expect Integra will launch into the European market in the next two years,” said Dodds. “We’re preparing ourselves for entry into that market and for more investors in Asia who recognize that designation.”
Dodds also maintains MAI and CCIM designations.
