Well, almost as many of you read Dear SC Legislators, please note the $3 to $4 billion being invested in WiMax as read about Wikipedia, the cockroach of the education establishment. And that was a bunch of you in both cases.

But something interesting happened. While several of you were willing to comment publicly on Swamp Fox about the education issue, I got a ton of private emails about the WiMax issue by no one wanted go down swinging publicly with me. That is, except for Denny Clements, who reran the Swamp Fox post as an editorial in the Myrtle Beach Sun News, Teleco firms calling shots to stop WiMax. Denny has had several good editorials himself on the WiMax challenge.

Well this week comes validation of another investment in the fly-by-night technology, WiMax, Broadband in the Boonies Gets a $267M Boost. Senator McConnell, Republican leader in the SC Senate, asks, The perplexing question is why the rush?

Because Senator, but the time the legislature gets finished with all the study committees, like the one Senator Rankin chaired last year, to ensure that this isn't a competitive threat to the incumbent telecos, South Carolina's opportunity to be a leader in an emerging technology will be lost.

By the way, 'in the boonies" is how most in the technology world sees us. We have the opportunity to change that if we can find the leadership to lead.
