College of Charleston Students Holder and Madren Named CWIT 2008 Scholarship Recipients

CHARLESTON, SC (Apr 09, 2008) - Charleston Woman in International Trade (CWIT) is pleased to announce that two well deserving students, Patricia Holder and Annie Madren will each be awarded a $2,000 scholarship on Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at CWIT’s annual banquet. The event will be held at the Doubletree Guest Suites on Church Street in Charleston's Historic District. Ticket cost is $75.00 and reservations may be made online at www.regonline.com/soiree_2008.

CWIT’s scholarship program began in 2004 to aid a South Carolina resident student, enrolled/ enrolling in an in-state accredited higher education program in pursuit of a degree specific to international trade or related course of study. One-$700 scholarship was awarded that first year in 2004. CWIT began awarding two scholarships in 2005 with awarded amounts increasing each year thereafter.

Patricia Holder is from Dillon, SC and is currently a rising senior at the College of Charleston. Patricia is taking International Finance and International Economics courses to further her knowledge of international trade and plans to graduate in May 2009 with a degree in Economics and a concentration in Finance.

Annie Madren is from Summerville, SC and is currently a rising junior at the College of Charleston. Annie is pursuing a B.S. in International Business with a double minor in French and Political Science.
