Lecture: "The International Economy and the Upstate" by Moore School expert David Woodward

Speaker: Dr. David Woodward, USC Moore School of Business.

Joint meeting of the International Center of the Upstate and the German-American Chamber of Commerce of SC, to be held at Events At The Davenport, 230 Trade Street, downtown Greer SC 29651.

Dr. Woodward's remarks will begin with an assessment of the South Carolina economy and the prospects for continued expansion in the face of the national economic slowdown. Then, the discussion will turn to examine the role of globalization in promoting sustainable, long-run economic growth in the Upstate region. The theme of the talk will be focused on the positive role played by exports and inward foreign direct investment as drivers of higher per capita income.

A reception will follow the program.
