ThinkTEC Innovation Summit
The eighth annual ThinkTEC Innovation Summit will take place Wednesday, June 4 and Thursday, June 5 at Trident Technical College. The year’s Summit, “Innovation: The Pulse of Charleston,” will kick-off with the South Carolina Investor Network (SCIN) Capital Forum. The Capital Forum will bring together different types of investors to educate entrepreneurs and business owners on how to fund a growing company, alternative funding sources and how to position a company for an exit.
Concurrently, there will be a site tour of Roper St. Francis Hospital and a showcase of their medical technologies. The event will continue in the evening with an opening reception where the winners of the New Ideas for a New Carolina Business Idea Contest will be announced and the recipients of this year’s ThinkTEC Awards will be honored.
The second day of the Summit will continue with a myriad of topics on growing knowledge-based business and medical technologies. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from expert speakers on the “green economy”, search engine optimization, workforce development, prosthetics, healthcare information technology and a show case of new technologies created in South Carolina. The Summit will also feature an exhibition hall highlighting tech-based products and services and Innovation Isle showcasing research on the verge of commercialization. Andy Johnson, Google East Coast regional manager of Hardware Operations will talk about Google’s role in the knowledge-based economy of the Charleston region.
Join business leaders, healthcare professionals, technology experts, entrepreneurs, researchers, economic providers and investors during this exciting and thought-provoking two-day event. The ThinkTEC Innovation Summit is a can’t-miss event for anyone involved in a high-tech/knowledge-based venture.
