Working Smarter, Working Greener
Climate Change Speaker Series: Carolina First Center, Greenville, SC 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Businesses of all sizes have begun to realize that investing in energy efficiency and conservation reduces general operating expenses and improves the bottom line, in addition to providing unique public relations opportunities. These investments in climate change solutions allow South Carolina businesses to employ their characteristic knack for innovation to save money, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and turn our state into a national leader for demonstrating the business-climate interaction. This presentation will feature QS/1, a Spartanburg-based data systems firm whose commitment to technology is driving their efforts to reduce energy consumption. Dan Gerst, Marketing Operations Manager at QS/1, will outline some of the resource savings from the company's green building in Spartanburg and will detail some of the policies the company has implemented to encourage conservation. Finally, Mr. Gerst will describe the company's efforts to develop software to allow them to provide their services more efficiently.
