Doc Chey’s to raise funds to benefit Berea family

GREENVILLE, S.C. June 19, 2008 – Doc Chey’s Asian Kitchen will donate 10 percent of the restaurant’s dine-in and carryout profits from Monday, June 30, to a memorial fund set up at the Bank of Traveler’s Rest to benefit the family of Jordan Trammell, the four-year-old boy who died in a fire that destroyed a Berea mobile home.

Two adults and three children escaped the June 17 fire. The memorial fund will help the family move into a new home and pay for funeral expenses.

Doc Chey’s is located at Shops at the Point, 1140 Woodruff Rd., next to Whole Foods.

“We are using our Greenville location to raise funds and join the community’s efforts to help the family deeply impacted by this tragedy,” said Ray Waldrop, owner of Doc Chey’s Greenville and Athens, Ga. locations. “Our goal is to make this fundraising process as easy as possible by asking individuals in the community to simply dine out on Monday, June 30, to help raise money for this cause.”
