Another milestone: Over 2,000 members of the Swamp Fox Community - How the Community adds value to you.

About a year ago, members of the Swamp Fox Community began putting profiles online to communicate their priorities, connect with others, and ultimately have conversations exploring how we might work together. Within the past few days we've passed the milestone of 2,000 members of the Swamp Fox Community.

• Update your online profile, and in particular be specific about the solutions you are seeking to the problems you face.

• Update the keyword tags to improve My Connections, including the tags MaterialsCommunity, ComputingCommunity, SustainabilityCommunity, Entrepreneur/TechTransferCommunity where you would like to collaborate with others.
• Please let us know at Success@SwampFox.ws of valuable connections you have made in the Swamp Fox Community that have added value to what you do.

How the Swamp Fox Community adds value to you as an individual.
Facilitate conversations. Swamp Fox adds value by sparking the informed intuition of individuals, which is an informal, personal form of knowledge. Swamp Fox facilitates conversations among knowledgeable people across organizational boundaries, connecting capabilities with needs in novel ways. The Swamp Fox Community is designed for you to communicate solutions you are seeking, connect with knowledgeable people, and engage in conversations to build trust and mutual accountability about connecting capabilities with market needs in novel ways.

You must do your part. For the community to deliver value to you, you must do your part. You begin by putting a profile online at SwampFox.ws with a brief bio, what you are seeking, and your expertise and resources from which others might benefit. It is critical that you are clear and specific about solutions you are seeking to problems you face that are difficult, expensive or inconvenient.

Keyword tags. You also include keyword tags in your profile describing your interests. The keywords are important, because the My Connections section of your online profile provides personalized suggestions of others profiles or news you may be interested in based on your keyword tags. You can participate in one of three communities where our region has globally distinctive expertise and resources by including these keyword tags in your profile: MaterialsCommunity, ComputingCommunity, SustainabilityCommunity, and Entrepreneur/TechTransferCommunity. My Connections is also included in the weekly Swamp Fox email update you receive, which will include updates of any of these communities that you join.

Post you own news. You can post your own news directly to SwampFox.ws, where it can be read by others in the Community and will be included in the weekly Swamp Fox update to 10,000 email subscribers. By including keyword tags with your news postings, including the community tags above, your news will be targeted to MyCommunity of other members most interested in connecting with you.

Connect with others. Others can connect with you, and you can connect with others, by searching the community or by clicking on keywords tags. A conversation can be started by sending a private message through an online profile. The message’s recipient will receive from Swamp Fox an email notification of the message. While you are free to share anything about yourself, Swamp Fox never shares your email address or other information not publicly available on your profile with anyone else.

Register to attend events. You can register to attend InnoVenture and other Swamp Fox events through the website, and see the profiles of others who have attended those events. These events have several presentation opportunities for which you can apply. If you are associated with a Swamp Fox Community Anchor or event Sponsor, you may have other opportunities to have presentations or exhibits at Swamp Fox events.
