Dewhit, Inc. Delivers Presentation at Clemson University
Greenville, SC – June 19, 2008 – Dewhit, Inc., a Facility Maintenance and Housekeeping Services Company, recently delivered a presentation at the Arthur M. Spiro Institute for Entrepreneurial Leadership at Clemson University.
The purpose of the presentation – which chronicled Dewhit’s startup that began from the trunk of owner Charles Whitner’s car to celebrating 25 years in business as the state’s only ISO-certified Facility Services MBE (Minority Business Enterprise) – was to provide students in the entrepreneurial studies program a first-hand look at a successful business owner.
“I live and breathe Dewhit everyday, and it is humbling to pause for a moment and recount the years with all the ups-and-downs of owning and managing a business,” says Charles Whitner, President of Dewhit. “People have been very good to me over years, and it is a pleasure when I have the opportunity to give back and possibly help another young entrepreneur with some good advice.”
The audience of nearly 70 people comprised of students, faculty and university administrators included Michael Mino, the Institute’s Adjunct Lecturer who said, “Charles did a fantastic job; his honest and sincere delivery hit home with the students. They learn a lot from these stories and the Dewhit story is a great one.”
T-shirts were printed to commemorate the event which ended with a standing ovation.
