I mentioned that my children never answer the phone, they text. I might as well not send them an email either, because they don't respond to any better than the phone. College of Charleston as figured that out too.
- Students are simply going to the school's new fan page on the social networking Web site Facebook to get information on anything from the best professors to the best dorms.
- The college launched the online communication effort this past March, Melissa Whetzel, the college's news manager, said. "It's so important to communicate with our audience, which is Generation Y, in the way they communicate," she said.
