BlueCross BlueSheld of SC and the University of SC have identified that the region has a strong base of large mainframe-based data centers serving the insurance and banking industries, as well as other large industry and academic organizations headquartered in the region. A crisis is brewing because while the baby boomer workforce who manages these facilities is retiring soon, the number of students entering university information technology programs has dropped in half in recent years. The Enterprise Systems Management Forum will explore K-12 and university initiatives that can create a pipeline of talent to manage IT as a Business.
The goal of the Enterprise Systems Management Forum is be the first meeting of an ongoing community of industry and academic professionals, entrepreneurs, investors and service providers working together in their mutual self-interest to connect those with great ideas related to building a pipeline of talent to manage IT as a business with the expertise, resources and customers they need to succeed.
