US Green Building Council, SC Chapter, Upstate Branch, Elects New Steering Committee and 2009 Officers

December 19, 2008, Upstate SC, The Upstate Branch held elections in November for its new Steering Committee members. Three were elected: Jeff Gentile (InterfaceFLOR), Lee Chapman (of Devita and Associates) and Dan Gerst (QS/1, a JM Smith company). Two other members, Tom Keith (of the City of Greenville), and Frank Powell (Furman University), were appointed by the Committee to fill vacated seats.

John Hansen (Craig Gaulden Davis Architects), immediate past Chair of the Upstate Branch, has been elected President-Elect of the USGBC SC Chapter and has therefore resigned from his branch responsibilities.

Heather Hardman (Grubb & Ellis|The Furman Co.), current Vice Chair, will replace John as Upstate Branch Chair. Mark Godfrey (Pazdan-Smith Group Architects) current Secretary has been elected as the new Vice Chair. Brett Caldwell (Caldwell Constructors) was elected to replace Mark as Branch Secretary. To round out the Executive Committee, Michael Chewning (McMillan Smith & Partners Architects) will remain as Branch Treasurer.

The Steering Committee also selected new leadership for its subcommittees.

New positions:
Jeff Gentile has been selected Programs Chair.
Dan Gerst has been selected Communications Chair.
Tom Keith has been selected Advocacy Vice Chair.
Hillary Andren (Pazdan-Smith Group) has been selected Communications Vice Chair.
Aimee Morrow (SC Dept of Health & Environmental Control) has been selected Membership Vice Chair.
Blaine Hart (Grubb & Ellis|The Furman Co.) has been selected Research Vice Chair.
Frank Powell (Furman University) has been selected EGB (Emerging Green Builders) Coordinator.

Remaining positions:
Sharon Hon (Top Level Management Services) will remain Membership Chair.
Lee Chapman will remain Research Chair.
Bob Bourguignon, (Sustainable Architecture) will remain Advocacy Chair.
