SOCIAL MEDIA, PHIL YANOV STYLE

Phil YanovYou'll enjoy tomorrow morning's presentation by Phil Yanov: HOWL RIGHT: A GUIDE TO CALLING THE WOLVES AND MAKING THEM YOUR PACK.

In his keynote address, Phil Yanov, founder and Executive Director of the GSA Technology Council (http://www.gsatc.org/), will talk about how social media's role harnessing the "power of the pack."

People are social animals and are instinctively drawn into groups. When they do gather, leaders emerge, but it's not by accident. Groups can be pulled together, given meaning and purpose, and used to accomplish things they might never do on their own. That is the power of the pack, and that capability alone is why we are drawn to act as a team. The techniques used for calling the wolves, selecting significant goals, and taking those goals down are powerful and their workings are mysterious. The techniques can be learned, however, and even mastered. Those powerful techniques are available to and can be used to great effect by anyone willing to howl at the moon.

Phil Yanov is a multi-media personality – a writer, columnist, radio personality, professional speaker, and founder of the GSA Technology Council. As a testimony to his vision, in only six years, the GSA Technology Council has become a relentless advocate for technology and entrepreneurship in the Upstate, reaching more than 11,000 subscribers with their technology newsletter, Website updates, monthly meetings, annual job fair, and FastTrac training. Phil is also founder and Executive Director of the IT Leadership Council.

After working for the last 20 years with all things high-tech, techy, and just plain nerdy cool, Phil Yanov continues to assist companies in leveraging technology most effectively in their sales, marketing, and customer service operations.

Phil is a natural and charismatic speaker; his style of speaking is spontaneous, interactive, and entertaining. He appears regularly on Clemson University's "Your Day" radio program, which is carried statewide on the South Carolina Public Radio system. He is a speaker at a variety of local and regional events in the public, private, and academic sectors. His column "Tech Advantage" for GSABusiness, a bi-monthly paper with a circulation of 400,000, focuses on computer info and is, of course, written in Phil's unique, engaging style.
