April 23: Join SC Leaders for "Conversations on High Impact Entrepreneurship"

NEW CAROLINA will hold its second annual statewide conference on entrepreneurship on April 23, 2009, from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM. The conference will be held at the Center of Excellence for Technology, which is located on Midlands Technical College’s Northeast Campus (151 Powell Road in Columbia, SC). The theme of the conference is “Conversations on High Impact Entrepreneurship.” The conference will bring together a wide range of South Carolina leaders who are involved in economic development and entrepreneurship-related programs. The conference will focus on strategies to promote the expansion of homegrown high impact firms. High impact firms include start-ups and existing firms that are continually expanding their capacity to add jobs and create wealth.

In recent years, South Carolina has moved into the top echelon of states in generating high impact firms. At the same time, South Carolina has attracted national recognition for establishing highly successful initiatives to support these firms. The conference will highlight South Carolina’s successes and examine opportunities to create an even stronger environment for supporting high impact firms.

The registration fee for the conference is $75. The fee for registering on the day of the event is $125. Attendance will be limited to 100 people.

The conference is being co-sponsored by the SC-LAUNCH program within the South Carolina Research Authority, the South Carolina Economic Developers Association, the South Carolina Department of Commerce, and Midlands Technical College.
