Trade Route hosts first designer event series in May
GREENVILLE, S.C., May 5, 2009 – The hottest home design trend this summer has individuals decorating their personal spaces with Asian-themed pieces. On Tuesday, May 19, local retailer Trade Route will host an event at its import and furniture accessories shop – located at Shops at Greenridge, 1125 Woodruff Road, Suite 1910 (next to Ulta) – to show attendees how they can create this look in their own homes. Joel Kirby, owner of Curly Willow Designs, will lead the free one-hour event, which begins at 6:30 p.m.
The May event is the first of a series of designer presentations created exclusively for individuals interested in learning about the latest in home décor trends, as well as ideas on how to revitalize a variety of residential settings – from classical to contemporary – with vibrant Asian-inspired accents and embellishments.
“Adding Asian-themed pieces to your home brings positive energy and harmony to your environment and to your life,” said Sherry Smid, owner of Trade Route. “In fact, simple additions can highlight existing artwork, complement colors in a favorite painting or fill an empty space next to a piece of furniture, all of which change the dynamics of a room.”
According to Kirby, as people watch their neighbors pay tribute to their heritage, dream of faraway vacation destinations, or travel to different countries to bring back original keepsakes, interior design trends are beginning to reflect a global society.
“This concept encourages people to branch out and express their uniqueness – and no longer stifles an individual with the old notion that everything in a space must match exactly,” said Kirby.
Wine and cheese will be provided. Session is limited to the first 20 individuals who sign up. Call 864-234-1514 or e-mail info@traderouteimport.com to RSVP.
