Janet Christy, local Consultant and Autho0,r was a speaker on May 28 at the Mountain BizWorks Women’s Conference in Asheville NC. Janet provided five key points from her book Capitalizing On Being Woman Owned.

This was the fifth annual Women’s Conference by Mountain BizWorks. The theme for this years event was “Facing Challenges, Embracing Opportunities.” It was held at the Enka Campus of Asheville – Buncombe Technical College.

Christy is President of Leverage & Development, LLC a consulting firm, based in Greer, SC, that specializes in marketing research, planning and training for Small, Woman Owned and Minority Owned Businesses. The firm also works with government, education and non-profit entities on small business and workforce development projects.

Mountain BizWorks provides training, coaching, and lending services to start-up and existing businesses in the twelve western-most counties of North Carolina. They focus on access for all types of entrepreneurs including low-income individuals and minorities who sometimes face barriers to business ownership.
