Spartanburg, S.C. -- Dr. Darrell Parker, dean of the George Dean Johnson, Jr. College of Business and Economics and professor of economics at the University of South Carolina Upstate, is writing a column, “The State of Business,” for the weekly editions of The Community Journals.
His business-focused columns have appeared in the Greenville Journal and Spartanburg Journal. His articles “Regional Development in the Upstate,” “Customer Service is Critical During Downturn,” “Understanding the ‘Blown Away’ Campaign,” “Filler’Up,” “Stagflation As A Recovery” are a few of his columns that have been published since his column began running in May. His articles are also posted online in a blog format at http://blogs.uscupstate.edu/dparker.
“The column augments our all-local business section, which we hope is a true reflection of the Upstate business community,” says Lyn Riddle, editor of the Community Journals. “Darrell offers readers information and education about all sorts of topics in business from the misuse of e-mail to an explanation of what incites gas prices. Readers have welcomed a look at the business world from a truly informed and engaged columnist.”
