New Website built on SharePoint Server 2007 Web Content Mgt. for ABM Industries

ABM Industries Incorporated (NYSE: ABM), one of the nation’s leading facility service providers, launched its new company website: www.abm.com, marking the Company's 100th anniversary.

ABM turned to TwinEngines to build and host their website using the Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 (MOSS 2007) web content management system. TwinEngines established the site architecture and implemented the design by The Jones Group. Custom MOSS 2007 features provide the rich user experience for visitors and efficient administrative functions for employees.

The new website features enhanced graphics and navigation, an expanded set of tools for investors, and detailed information about ABM's business subsidiaries and capabilities to assist current and prospective customers in learning more about the Company. The site also includes an Office Locator search tool to make it easier for customers to find ABM offices within specific geographic areas.

"We are excited about the new look and feel of ABM.com," said Gary Wallace, Senior Vice President & Chief Marketing Officer. "We've worked very hard to make the website more user-friendly and to provide it with enhanced functionality that will make it much more useful to both first-time and frequent users.”

To keep the site up to date with the latest service information, divisions within ABM will be able to update their content in the website using SharePoint Server 2007 workflow processes, email alerts and Active Directory user permissions. Web site updates from authors’ desktops and the development system through the staging network to the live website are managed by SharePoint Server 2007 content deployment functionality.

A custom administrative tool builds flash graphics on the fly for ABM, providing cost-effective and timely graphics updates. The Office Locator uses Google maps technology, with another custom administration tool to manage the central repository of office information for the entire organization. Search engine optimization features were added to SharePoint Server 2007, as well as integrating to third parties for a closed-loop sales lead process, career search and investor information.
