Spartanburg’s Social Media Club Explores Current Trends in Social Media

Spartanburg, S.C. – From national news to local businesses, social media services such as Twitter and Facebook offer new ways to communicate and stay in touch with audiences and customers around the world.

Spartanburg social media enthusiasts and those seeking to learn more about this growing form of communication will meet on Tuesday, July 14, at noon at the Chapman Cultural Center in the Carlos Moseley Building Conference Room for the July meeting of the Social Media Club-Spartanburg and a presentation by Olivier Blanchard, a respected social media practitioner and principal at BrandBuilder Marketing, a Greenville-based brand consulting and marketing management firm. Blanchard also manages “The Brand Builder Blog” a widely popular blog that shares information on creating and maintaining a strong brand. There is no cost to attend the meeting, and attendees may bring their lunches to the meeting.

“Mr. Blanchard is very well respected for his knowledge and experience in using social media to connect and share,” said Tiffany Hughes, president of Spartanburg’s Social Media Club chapter. “His insights into the proper ways to best utilize these new ways of communicating will be very valuable to Spartanburg businesses, non-profits and anyone who wants to learn more about social media.”

Social Media Club Spartanburg is a local chapter of the Social Media Club, a national organization launched in 2006 that currently has more than 75 chapters globally and three active chapters in South Carolina - Columbia, Greenville and Spartanburg.

“The goal of Social Media Club Spartanburg is to provide an opportunity for people who are interested in learning about social media channels, like Twitter, to meet, share ideas and discover how we can use these new tools to promote our causes, companies and ourselves,” said Hughes.
