PDMA Carolinas: No Time to Lose - Accelerating Product Development
Time really is money.
If a company can create new products faster, it will delight customers with higher and higher satisfaction with each iteration. Further, if the products have missed the mark, as they often do, a company that can move quickly will adapt, correct the trajectory, and recover. Even when looking strictly from a financial perspective, getting the new products on the market faster will generate greater returns on investment due to the greater time in the market to realize those returns. However you look at it, less time in the development cycle means more cash in the company coffers.
In this session, we will present real techniques for accelerating time to market. In particular, we will discuss methods on how to evaluate new technologies, techniques for infusing those into innovative products, and how to mitigate the risks inherent with a faster process.
Join Roy Attride and Chris Yahnker of InsightPD, and Tim Sullivan, PhD - R&D Manager, Systems Engineering at Becton Dickinson, for an informative session presenting both cross-industry best practices and practitioner experience:
- Understand the factors that influence product development and what the trade-offs are for decreasing the time to market
- Overview of tools and techniques that can be used to quickly identify new technologies and market opportunities
- Overview of tools and techniques for introducing innovation on a rapid product development cycle
- Overview and understanding of risk management and its importance to reducing time to market
- A better understanding of why it is so important to remain innovative during the current soft economy
As usual, we'll start with networking, food and drinks.
