Systems commissioning is a requirement of LEED buildings and is becoming more commonplace in the design and construction of buildings of all types. Building owners, facilities managers and designers recognizing a need to ensure that buildings function as specified with respect to the economics of their construction and operation, their energy efficiency, the healthfulness of their air quality and the sustainability of their systems. Yet systems commissioning is relatively new for many design and construction professionals and questions abound. Systems Commissioning is a cost-effective means to reduce building energy use. Please join the USGBC SC Chapter, Upstate Branch for a lecture on building systems commissioning and its relationship to LEED v3.0 and EBOM.

Speaker: Michael Mantai is a Duke University graduate in mechanical engineering with 19 years experience in the fields of construction, commissioning and facility operations. He is a Professional Engineer, Certified Energy Manager, Certified Commissioning Professional, and LEED Accredited professional. He is the founder and President of System WorCx which is dedicated to building commissioning and LEED consulting services, having offices in Charlotte, NC and Columbia, SC. System WorCx is celebrating its 5-year anniversary this year.
