S.C. Family Law Blog Sees 25 Percent Traffic Increase In 3 Months
The S.C. Family Law Blog, which has steadily held Google’s #1 ranking for “S.C. family law” for the past year, has reported a 25 percent increase in visitors since June 2009. Created by Upstate family law attorney Ben Stevens of Stevens MacPhail, PA, the blog is a free tool that serves as an aggregate for family law changes, updates and hot-topic issues, as well as a resource for families regarding the emotions attached to family law.
The S.C. Family Law Blog garnered 21,299 hits in June, increasing every month thereafter for a record high of 26,899 hits in August. Nearly half of the blog’s half a million total visitors since its July 2006 inception have come in the past 12 months.
“The S.C. Family Law blog is how I give back to the community, and anecdotally, we’re seeing that more families are researching their options before hiring an attorney. Our goal is to give the public the information and tools they need to decide if divorce, or some other measure requiring an attorney, is actually the best decision for them,” said Stevens. “And in general, it reflects the nature of our tech-savvy world. Consumers and potential clients want to make informed decisions – and they go online to find free, relevant information.”
Stevens also authors The Mac Lawyer blog, which shares facts information about Apple computers and phones, along with the ways their applications are useful in the legal profession. Stevens believes that sharing information is just the way smart businesses operate these days.
The increase in visitors to the South Carolina Family Law blog comes on the heels of the Special Libraries Association’s announcement that The Mac Lawyer blog was one of the featured sites in “60 Featured Sites in 60 Minutes,” which was presented at the association’s 2009 Annual Conference in Washington, D.C. this summer.
