Richardson Plowden Welcomes Valdes as New Attorney

COLUMBIA, S.C., October 1, 2009 - - Richardson Plowden & Robinson, P.A., has announced the addition of its newest associate, Kathryn Landers Valdes to the Columbia-based law firm. Valdes will focus her practice on business, tax law, and estate planning.

Valdes earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Emory University where she was recognized on the National Dean’s List. She earned her juris doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law where she also was on the Dean’s List. In May of 2009, she was awarded an LL.M. in Taxation from Georgetown University Law School. While at Georgetown, her emphasis was in estate planning and estate taxation.

Prior to joining Richardson Plowden, Valdes clerked for Senator Glenn McConnell, president pro tempore and chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee and interned with the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office. She is a member of the South Carolina Bar and a member of the South Carolina Bar Young Lawyers Division.
