The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation Selects Brains on Fire to Develop Word of Mouth Movement
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Oct. 5, 2009 – Identity company Brains on Fire has been selected to create a word of mouth movement for The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, a private, not-for-profit educational institution and cultural destination dedicated to the preservation, restoration, interpretation and presentation of 18-century Williamsburg, VA.
Brains on Fire will create an engagement campaign that allows consumers to see Colonial Williamsburg as a cultural destination, offering everything from history, education and art to world-class dining, accommodations, shopping, entertainment, and more. The firm will work alongside other partner agencies including McCann Erickson, Birmingham, Mich. responsible for creative development and media (www.mccann.com/); Missy Farren & Associates New York, strategic media relations (www.mfaltd.com); and Ypartnership Orlando, Fla., publisher of the Travel Monitor (www.ypartnership.com).
“The Foundation is a distinctive destination with something for everyone, and Brains on Fire will help us connect to consumers who have a passion for our offerings, said Sally McConnell, director of brand strategy and marketing communications for the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation.
“Colonial Williamsburg has long been recognized as a top destination for U.S. history buffs,” said Robbin Phillips, president of Brains on Fire. “And now it’s time to shine a light on many of the other wonderful attributes this locale has to offer, like its cultural offerings and resort-style amenities.”
Brains on Fire has previously helped develop word of mouth movements and identify brand ambassador opportunities for companies including Fiskars Brands and Best Buy, and non-profit organizations such as Rage Against the Haze, South Carolina’s youth-led anti-tobacco initiative. The company won an Effie award in 2008 for its work with the ‘Rage Against the Haze’ program.
