Conference to Showcase South Carolina's Centers of Economic Excellence Program
Mark your calendar for the Oct. 30 event on the USC campus.
Anyone interested in the CoEE Program is encouraged to attend.
Heard about South Carolina’s visionary Centers of Economic Excellence (CoEE) Program and want to learn more about it? Make plans to attend a special showcase event from 1 to 4 p.m. on Friday, October 30 at USC’s Russell House Theater.
Attendees will get an up-close look at the exciting research taking place in the program’s university-based research centers, and will also have the opportunity to meet 20 CoEE Endowed Chairs, who are among the world’s leading scientists and engineers. These world-class professors have been recruited to South Carolina through the CoEE Program and are laying the foundation for tomorrow’s major scientific discoveries.
The event will feature a special “Science and Economy Forum,” including:
• Gilda Cobb Hunter (S.C. House of Representatives)
• Bobby Hitt (BMW and CoEE Review Board)
• Paula Harper Bethea (Chair - CoEE Review Board)
• Michael Amiridis (Provost – University of South Carolina)
• Chris Przirembel (Vice President for Research - Clemson University)
• Tony Waldrop (Vice Chancellor for Research – University of North Carolina)
They will offer perspectives on how the CoEE Program is affecting research, education, and economic development across South Carolina. CoEE Endowed Chairs will also discuss their work and its potential to strengthen South Carolina’s economy, improve quality of life, and create high-paying jobs in the Palmetto State.
For business leaders who want to learn more about how companies can partner with the state’s research universities, for elected officials who want to learn more about CoEE’s return on investment, or for individuals interested in improving South Carolina for all of its citizens, this is an opportunity not to be missed.
There is no cost to attend the event and pre-registration is not required. For additional information, please contact Clare Morris at clare@claremorrisagency.com or 803.413.6808.
