Better Business Bureau Announces 2009 Student of Integrity WInners

GREENVILLE, SC – The Education Foundation of the Better Business Bureau® Upstate has awarded six Student of Integrity Awards to rising high school seniors in the Upstate who personify high character through leadership, community service, personal integrity and academic history. Students were recognized and presented a plaque by SC Secretary of State Mark Hammond during the Better Business Bureau annual meeting held Oct. 22 at the Hyatt Regency Greenville. Additionally, each student will receive a $1,000 scholarship from the BBB Education Foundation to assist with expenses at an accredited college or university.

The annual BBB Student of Integrity Awards marked its third year in 2009 with 51 students from high schools in the 10-county Upstate area submitting applications. Winners of the 2009 Student of Integrity Awards are: Emily Talley Hammond, Greer High School; Amanda Elizabeth Bishop, Riverside High School in Greenville; Destinee Kiara Johnson, Westside High School in Anderson; Marlena Nicole Brdar, Oakwood Christian School in Anderson; Rachel Alyssa Whitmire, T.L Hanna High School in Anderson; and Sara Elizabeth Batson, Travelers Rest High School.
