Law Publication Names Duncan Lawyer of the Year

Alan W. Duncan has been named a 2010 Lawyer of the Year by Best Lawyers, a publication that rates attorneys based on input from other lawyers. Duncan practices in Smith Moore Leatherwood’s Greensboro office as a member of the litigation group.
Best Lawyers recognized Duncan as the Greensboro legal community’s Lawyer of the Year in the area of personal injury litigation. Catastrophic injury, health care provider and other professional defense litigation, aviation law, and business litigation are among the areas of focus for Duncan’s practice.

He was the 2008 recipient of the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys’ J. Robert Elster Award for Professional Excellence. He is a past chair of litigation section of the North Carolina Bar Association, past President of the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys, and a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers. Duncan also serves as Chair of the Guilford County Board of Education.
