Smith Moore Leatherwood Continues Health Care Practice Growth with Addition of Bill Boling in Atlanta Office
ATLANTA (December 7, 2009) —William H. “Bill” Boling, a well-respected Atlanta health care attorney, has joined Smith Moore Leatherwood LLP. Boling, who joins the firm in its Atlanta office, brings more than 20 years of health care experience in transactional, litigation and compliance matters to Smith Moore Leatherwood, which provides a comprehensive range of legal services to health care providers in more than 20 states.
According to Bob Wilson, the firm’s health care practice area leader, the addition of Boling supports a continuing strategic effort to grow the firm’s practice nationally. “The practice of health care law is constantly changing and we’re deeply committed to offering the best skilled and most experienced attorneys to help meet the needs of our clients. The addition of an attorney of Bill’s caliber increases the services that we can provide to our health care clients throughout the country.”
Having served as general counsel to MCG Health Inc., a clinical delivery system for the Medical College of Georgia, Boling has substantial experience relating to governance, contracting and regulatory compliance matters. He also has experience in civil trials in Georgia and Federal Courts with a substantial emphasis on health care litigation. “Smith Moore Leatherwood is one of the most respected law firms in the Southeast,” says Boling. “I’m excited about being a part of the firm because of its long track record of success for its clients, its culture that promotes professionalism and its focus on national growth, particularly in the firm’s health care practice.”
Boling’s clients include hospitals, academic medical centers and other health care providers in Georgia and throughout the country. In addition to his client work, Boling teaches health care law at the University of Georgia Law School and has recently served as a director, officer and former President of the Georgia Academy of Healthcare Attorneys.
“Bill Boling brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Smith Moore Leatherwood and we’re certainly excited to have someone of Bill’s pedigree join our office in Atlanta,” says Toby Watt, who leads the firm’s health care practice in Atlanta. “Bill will immediately increase our ability to service current and future clients who have a broad spectrum of health care law related needs.”
Boling holds a Certificat d’Etude from the Universite de Haute Bretagne in France and is an alumnus of Georgia State University and the University of Georgia School of Law.
