Business Leader Names Lynn Chandler One of Charlotte’s Women Extraordinaire

CHARLOTTE, NC – December 17, 2009 – Lynn Chandler, a partner in Smith Moore Leatherwood’s Charlotte office and leader in the Queen city legal and civic communities, has been tapped as a “Women Extraordinaire” by Business Leader magazine.
According to Business Leader, the Women Extraordinaire Award honors women of outstanding accomplishment who are leaders, innovators and problem-solvers, and who serve as an inspiration and mentor to others. Chandler has been a partner in Smith Moore Leatherwood’s Charlotte office since 2007 and has played an instrumental role in the growth of the firm’s wealth management and estate administration practice.
Chandler, a Board Certified Specialist in Estate Planning and Probate Law by the North Carolina Bar Association, focuses her own wealth management practice on the representation of individuals and owners of closely held businesses in helping them take advantage of the unique tax and non-tax planning opportunities.
She is a member of the N.C. Bar’s Estate Planning and Fiduciary Law Section Council and a former co-chair of the legislative committee for the Planning & Fiduciary Law Section. Locally, she is a member of the Charlotte Estate Planning Council and the Carolinas Cabinet of Professional Advisors.
Chandler is also active in the education community as a frequent presenter of continuing legal education topics related to tax planning and trust and estates, while also teaching the certified financial planning course offered through Queens University. In 2009, she was named one of Business North Carolina’s Legal Elite for her work in tax and estate law.
Chandler holds an undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a M.B.A. from the University of Nebraska and a law degree from Creighton University.
