Greenville Social Media Club with Bob Inglis as Guest

The Greenville Social Media Club will host Fourth District Representative Bob Inglis at its January 11th meeting to discuss his personal experience with social media. Inglis will talk about the significance of Twitter, Facebook YouTube, blogs, forums and other social media channels and how they have impacted the political climate as well as his own constituent and media relationships. The non-partisan meeting will focus on the principles and practices behind engaging with leaders in the political sphere and offer those in attendance the opportunity to meet Inglis and ask questions.

“With campaign season really kicking off in 2010, social media should prove to be a very relevant topic when it comes to politics.” said Trey Pennington, Greenville Social Media Club President. ”The evolution and rapid growth of social media has the potential to really change the way politicians engage with their constituents and communities.”

The January 11 meeting will take place at 8:00am at Michelin on Main, 550 South Main Street in Greenville. Pre-registration is $8.00 and registration at the door is $10.00. The event is open to the public. To register or for more information, visit http://smcgreenville2010jan.eventbrite.com/.

About Greenville Social Media Club
Greenville has emerged as a national leader in social media progress and influence thanks to the formation of the Greenville Social Media Club, a chapter of the larger Social Media Club organization (www.socialmediaclub.org), which seeks to advance social media use, offer support to individual chapters and users, and encourage the adoption of certain industry standards. Trey Pennington, a Greenville-based marketing professional and social media advisor, to date has launched or helped launch ten Social Media Clubs, including the Greenville chapter as well as eight in the southeastern United States, one in the United Kingdom, and one in Australia. The Greenville Social Media Club has grown to over 550 members and was, for most of 2009, the second largest Social Media Club in the world.
