Launch of Redesigned Consortium for Enterprise Systems Management Web Site - www.gocesm.org

Dear Consortium partners and friends,

We are launching our redesigned Web site at www.gocesm.org today, and we wanted you to be the first to visit it and help us spread the word about it.

The Web site plays a key role in the mission the Consortium’s to increase the number of people in the IT talent pipeline. The Consortium’s Web Content Manager Shelley Hill worked with our partner, Palmetto Computer Labs, to redesign the site. The Web site aims to:

  • Clearly define our mission and goals: Teach IT, Enable IT, Grow IT and Promote IT

  • Promote the need for a strong IT talent pipeline and its benefits
  • Inform students, parents, teachers, guidance counselors and career specialists about the exciting opportunities that a career in information technology can offer
  • Illustrate how K-12 students, college students, IT entry-level employees, IT professionals and IT executives can enter and contribute to the information technology talent pipeline
  • Connect students, professionals, educators and community leaders to news and events about information technology
  • Increase the visibility of Consortium partners to people in the IT talent pipeline

In addition to the Web site, the Consortium is now on social-networking sites, including Facebook and Twitter. The Web site and social-networking sites are the first steps in a media plan for promoting information technology and the Consortium’s mission.

We have an exciting year planned that includes:

  • Expanding the Create IT Computer Camps to Charleston and Greenville
  • Publishing a “Be a Part of Information Technology” brochure with the Midlands Education and Business Alliance
  • Producing Virtual Job Shadows with Mircoburst Learning
  • Hosting the IT as a Career Community forum with InnoVenture
  • Expanding the Palmetto Open Source Software Conference (POSSCON) with Palmetto Computer Labs
  • Developing recommendations for high school and college IT curricula in conjunction with Georgia Tech’s Georgia Computes and Marist College’s Enterprise Computing Community
  • And we soon hope to announce the addition of new partners and a move to a new facility that will allow us to expand our programs.

The www.gocesm.org site will be the place for you and others interested in joining our mission to find out about the latest news and events in IT. The site will be continuously updated with plans for a blog, a forum, an interactive map that will include all our partners, and more content aimed at building excitement among students about the possibilities of information technology.

Please visit www.gocesm.org and send any feedback to Kristine.hooker@gocesm.org for consideration. Thanks, and we look forward to working with you this year!

    Sincerely,
    Lonnie Emard
    Executive Director
