Registration Open: IT as a Career Forum - March 17
The IT as a Career Forum is presented by the Consortium for Enterprises Systems Management will be held in Columbia, SC, on March 17, 2010, from 8:30 to 4:30.
The audience targeted is information technology professionals in industry, academia, K-12, government, and not-for-profits interested in growing the pipeline of students who choose IT as a career.
The objective is to promote initiatives that have successfully attracted students at the K-12 or college level to information technology as a career, to develop more support for these initiatives and to replicate them in other communities.
The agenda includes:
Morning sessions
- presentations of success stories in education connecting students with IT career opportunities
- Best practices in industry in attracting talent
Afternoon sessions
- University curriculum for managing IT as a business
- K-12 curriculum for IT foundation and career pathway alignment
- Organization/assessment of the smart cities projects
