MBA Intern Program & Job Fair Offer Students
Competitive Advantage in Uncertain Times

Contract Intern Employees Part of New Trend

(Greenville, SC, January 28, 2010)Phillips Resource Group is partnering with regional companies to assist MBA students to be hired as contract intern employees where they will gain hands-on experience and valuable exposure within companies. Clemson University is hosting an MBA Career Fair to be held this Friday, January 29, where Phillips and other companies will be interviewing and advising Clemson MBAs who are seeking internships or part-time opportunities.
Internships aren’t new but what IS new is the trend that smaller-to-medium-sized companies are now thinking about interns. Doing more with less can mean contracting an MBA to manage a project or complete an analysis that management can’t find time to do.
The Clemson MBA Career Fair, which will be held at the University’s new MBA location 55 East Camperdown) 9:30-11:30am in downtown Greenville (formerly the Bowater Building, offers a convenient forum for both the companies and students to interview each other and begin a relationship that should not only give the students an edge in the competitive job market, but help companies fill their needs as well,” said Ed Parris, President of the Phillips Group.
Phillips Resource Group takes the work out of hiring the interns and processing their payroll for companies and makes the process seamless and easy for the students as well. Contract interns is a hot topic, recently covered in the January 7, 2010 Business Week.
“We are delighted to invite organizations for this event to meet out MBA talent. Being located in Greenville makes this much more convenient for the business community,” said Gail DePriest, Director of Corporate Relations & Career Management, Clemson University MBA Program.
Companies registered for the Career Fair include Hubbell Lighting, Michelin North America and BMW. The intern positions will include a wide range of divisions within each
company and will naturally encourage some of the interns to stay in the state once they graduate.
The Phillips Group, a 42 year-old Greenville-based employment company with more than 10 offices in the Southeast, has hosted intern programs for two years, with several success stories.
