(Greenville, SC, March 8, 2010)Phillips Staffing announced today that beginning March
19, 2010 it is moving its Greenville branch office from McAlister Square on South
Pleasantburg Drive -- a few hundred feet away--to 108 Edinburgh Court-next to United
Way’s headquarters. Along with this move, the full-service employment firm will be
expanding its operations to include Capita Employer Resources, a payroll processing
company.
Phillips has owned the Edinburgh Court building for more than 30 years and is moving its
operations from McAlister Square to the more efficient 3,000-square-foot space.
According to Phillips, this office will logistically better accommodate its operations and
the 200-to-300 jobseekers Phillips assists each week on-site.
Phillips has worked with Capita for eight years, but is now consolidating the companies
under one roof for several logical reasons.
“The Phillips/Capita team will offer both our jobseekers and employers in the Greenville
market more seamless services and convenient access in one location,” said Phillips
President Blanton Phillips. “Our branch locations are strategically located to serve both
job-seekers and employers. The combination of Phillips – which provides temporary
staffing, permanent placement and other HR-related services – with Capita, brings a
more comprehensive service menu, and the opportunity for “one-stop shopping” for
employers in the area.”
Phillips Staffing considers the payroll function to be a human resources concern – not
simply data processing– and brings more than 40 years of personnel experience to
Capita’s offerings.
The company called the Edinburgh Court location its main office and only location in
the 1970s and 80s. Currently, Phillips is headquartered at 330 Pelham Road, in a larger
building of approximately 15,000 square feet. In addition, they have a dozen locations
in the Southeast, but feel that the Edinburgh Court office is a perfect location for its
Greenville branch operations. “It’s somewhat of a homecoming for us,” said Phillips.
“We have had other tenants there over the years but have recently renovated and
upgraded the space, and we think it makes for a perfect location for our Greenville
branch.”
Phillips Staffing,a division of S.B. Phillips Company, Inc., is a 42 year-old full-service
Greenville-based employment company with 12 offices in the Southeast.
