Blackbaud to Host Social Media Fundraising Panel at South by Southwest (SXSW) Interactive Festival

“Debunking the Myth of Social Media Fundraising” panel to be held Saturday, March 13 at 12:30 CT

Blackbaud is pleased to announce its sponsorship of The Beacon: Lounge with a Conscience at the 2010 SXSW Interactive Festival on March 12 to 16 at the Austin Convention Center in Austin, Texas. The Beacon offers nonprofit professionals a central location to network, share ideas, and relax between sessions. New this year, The Beacon will also feature afternoon acoustic concerts from Austin-based bands. In addition, Blackbaud will host the following panel:

Debunking the Myth of Social Media Fundraising

Blackbaud’s Frank Barry will moderate a panel featuring Lance Armstrong Foundation’s Brooke McMillan, Epic Change’s Stacey Monk, and Charity Dynamics’ Donna Wilkins to discuss several case studies examining successful fundraising strategies that incorporate social media sites such as Twitter®, Facebook®, and YouTube®. The panel will also explore results from a recently completed research project investigating social media fundraising strategies specifically supporting nonprofit events.
