Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) “Meet the Generals” SC Networking Event Set for Tuesday, March 30, in Columbia
The Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of the Carolinas, in partnership with its South Carolina chapters, announces its inaugural “Meet the Generals” SC construction industry networking event scheduled for Tuesday evening, March 30, 2010, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at The Embassy Suites (Stoneridge Drive) in Columbia. Special guests include U.S. Congressman Joe Wilson.
Open to ABC members throughout South Carolina, “Meet the Generals” is a speed networking event at which South Carolina’s leading general contractors will be on hand to “meet and greet” potential (and existing) subcontractors, suppliers and industry professionals. Specialty contractors in particular will want to take advantage of the unique opportunity to sign up for 10-minute, one-on-one sessions with any or all of the 14 “generals” slated to be there. These meetings for subcontractors only will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. The “generals" will be prepared to discuss upcoming projects, qualifications to bid, and their business philosophies and practices. Participating general contractors include: Adolfson & Peterson Construction, BE&K Building Group, Choate Construction, Cox-Schepp Construction, Crowder Construction, Dooley Mack Constructors, M.B. Kahn, Melloul Blamey, Rodgers Builders, Schuchart Corporation, Thompson Turner Construction, THS Constructors, Turner Construction Company and Robins & Morton.
“ABC and the Meet the Generals Event is about bringing the industry together,” said Doug Carlson, ABC of the Carolinas President & CEO, “We are all a part of the construction industry, General Contractors, Specialty Contractors, Suppliers and Associates.”
Bonitz Contracting Company, which operates in both Carolinas, attended ABC’s “Meet the Generals” event for North Carolina earlier this month. “Meet the Generals offered a unique one stop opportunity to solidify existing relationships as well as cultivate new ones. The innovative format provided equal opportunity for all who attended to benefit his or her business,” said Bruce Bailey, sales manager.
ABC’s South Carolina “Meet the Generals” event is being hosted by ABC’s newly established Columbia Council, with support from the Upstate and Low Country Councils.
This event is designed exclusively for ABC members. $50 per attendee. Only specialty contractors qualify for the speed networking, but suppliers and associate members are welcome and encouraged to attend.
