Bernell King Ingram Awarded 2010 Clemson Young Alumnus of Merit Award
The Clemson Alumni Association's Young Alumni Council presented the 2010 Young Alumnus of Merit Award to Bernell King Ingram during this weekend's Young Alumni 'Come Back to Clemson Weekend' Reunion. This award is presented to a young alumnus who has graduated in the past ten years, recognizing their exceptional achievement and significant contribution to their profession, community, and to the university. The recipient must exemplify outstanding professional and personal development either through traditional channels or innovative approaches. B.A., Language & International Trade (Japanese) 2000
After graduating from Clemson University in 2000, Bernell has been building Visions International LLC a professional coaching, consulting and training company for entrepreneurs and intercultural professionals.
Bernell has served over 1000 Upstate South Carolina entrepreneurs, global corporations and, entrepreneurs and professionals in the United States and internationally.
She was the first student to graduate in Language and International Trade (L&IT) with a concentration in Japanese at Clemson, earning her recognition as a Clemson Women First in 2005 and an Upstate Black History Maker by 107.3 WJMZ.
Bernell speaks regularly to professionals, students of the Clemson L&IT program and, other students of universities, high schools and elementary schools.
Bernell balances her demanding business by "doing nothing" on Saturdays, watching cartoons, volunteering in her community, participating in ministry work at her church, other churches, and going on regular date nights and jaunts with her husband Curtis.
