Greenville's ADEX Machining featured on CNN
GREENVILLE -- A CNN report on the “New Face of Blue Collar Workers” highlights Greenville’s ADEX Machining Technologies.
The piece focuses on the state’s changing economy and the evolution of the high-tech manufacturing sector in South Carolina.
ADEX manufactures precision machined prototypes and production parts for the aerospace, energy and defense industries. Highly trained workers there both program and operate machines, including 5-Axis CNC mills, lathes, EDM, and CMM.
“You might call these guys the new blue-collar worker,” the report states.
The news agency spent a day filming at ADEX last week, said company co-founder Jason Premo.
“CNN originally set out to do a story regarding the poor unemployment situation and specifically South Carolina's loss in manufacturing. However after doing research they came across previous articles regarding ADEX and our growth and wanted to learn more about this very different story,” he said.
“There are lots of consistent themes about Greenville's positive economic climate, great technical schools like Greenville Tech, how ADEX used industry workforce training funds to help further advance employee skills,” Premo added. “Hopefully the final product will cast Greenville and our region in a very positive light. We at ADEX are proud and honored to help play a part in that message and how so many leaders in our community have worked so hard to make it possible for companies like ours to succeed.”
