Upstate Alliance Announces 2010 Executive Committee

The Upstate SC Alliance announced the addition of four new members to the Alliance’s 2010 executive committee at its recent annual meeting held at the BMW Zentrum in Spartanburg County.

The Alliance expanded its executive committee from five members previously to now nine members. Two of those nine also come from the public sector which is new to the Alliance structure. In addition to welcoming new members, the Alliance announced returning executive committee members. Returning executive committee members include:

•George Acker, who will serve as the executive committee’s chairman. Mr. Acker is southern region director for government and community relations for Duke Energy.

•Bobby Hitt, who will serve as the executive committee’s vice chair. Mr. Hitt is manager of media and public relations for BMW Manufacturing Corporation.

•Ingo Angermeier, who will serve as the executive committee’s treasurer. Mr. Angermeier is CEO of Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System.

•John Miller, who will serve as an at-large member of the executive committee. Mr. Miller is president of AnMed Health.

•Leon Patterson, who will serve as the executive committee’s immediate past chairman. Mr. Patterson is chairman of Palmetto Bancshares, Inc.

The Alliance also welcomes four new members to the executive committee. New members include:

•Jim Thomas, who will serve as an at-large member of the executive committee. Mr. Thomas is a regional director for AT&T.

•Butch Kirven, who will serve as an at-large member of the executive committee. Mr. Kirven is chairman of Greenville County Council.

•Neil Smith, who will serve as an at-large member of the executive committee. Mr. Smith is chair of Pickens County Council.

•Nancy Spencer, who will serve as the executive committee’s secretary. Ms. Spencer is regional vice president for Delta Dental.
