Woodlands at Furmans becomes Life Care community

The Woodlands at Furman is now a Life Care continuing care retirement community.

This addition to the Woodlands is an important distinction because Life Care gives seniors more options in managing their financial nest egg while maximizing and preserving their assets, while offering lifetime peace of mind.

Woodlands’ residents enjoy the benefits of maintenance-free living, easy access to the Greenville’s vibrant downtown, links to the mountains and a relationship with Furman University. With Life Care, residents have the certainty of controlled expenses if they later need assisted living, memory support or skilled nursing.

The addition of Life Care is important because it further allows Woodlands’ residents to control their futures while getting access to quality healthcare, if needed, and all at a set, affordable cost. LifeCare provides financial certainty in an uncertain economic and healthcare environment.

The Woodlands Board of Directors and Upstate Senior Living decided to offer Life Care in response to the questions and needs of seniors about their futures. The Woodlands is sponsored by community leaders and is proud to bring Life Care to Greenville. This is a commitment to the community and to area seniors to provide the best product in the marketplace as well as outstanding services and amenities in a CCRC where continued learning and growing are added focuses of healthy retirement living.

The Woodlands at Furman is a non-profit, mission driven senior living community owned and operated by a local board of directors and managed professionally by Greystone Communities. The 22-acre campus, adjacent to Furman University, opened in March 2009 and consists of 132 apartment homes in addition to The Arboretum, a separate, but attached section of the Woodlands, opened in June 2009. The Arboretum includes 32 assisted living apartments, 16 memory support suites and 30 skilled nursing suites. Residents enjoy a wide range of amenities - enabling them to continue an active and engaged lifestyle.
