Today's Siding

There are many different types of siding to choose from in today's market place. Each type of siding
has its own benefits and drawbacks. Some of the benefits include length of warranty, low maintenance, termite and water resistance and durability.

Most of us are aware of the basic traditional types of siding such as brick and wooden lap siding. Brick veneer siding is still very popular today. Brick is very termite and weather resistant and usually lasts the length of the home. Wooden lap siding is not used as often as it once was due to the need for preventive maintenance to increase its lifespan. Wooden siding is still very beautiful and is used to give homes and cabins a traditional rustic appearance.

Many other types of sidings are more commonly used today such as vinyl, aluminum, stone, solid board, fiber cement, exterior plywood, shingle and shakes, stucco, limestone and many different types of Log Cabin siding to name most of them. Vinyl siding is the most popular today because of cost and the many different colors and styles and it is low in maintenance. All of the other siding materials have their own unique looks and advantages. Before choosing the type siding you want for your new home or for your existing home consult with your local siding contractorto be sure which types of siding are best suited for the weather conditions in your area.
