SCCEE President Wins ‘2010 Friend Of The Family Award:

The SC Association of Family and Consumer Sciences awarded Helen Meyers, president of the SC Council on Economic Education, its 2010 “Friend of the Family Award.”

“Helen is a champion of financial literacy in South Carolina,” said Dorothy Blanton, SCAFCS president. “She was nominated for this award because of her tireless efforts to eradicate financial illiteracy. She goes beyond the call of duty to reach all neighborhoods and communities to teach financial literacy.”

The SC Association of Family and Consumer Sciences works to bring people together to improve the lives of individuals, families and communities.

The SC Council on Economic Education is a non-profit business-education partnership dedicated to providing teachers with the tools and resources needed to educate South Carolina’s students about financial literacy, economic principles, and the changing global economy.
