KPMG to Occupy Space in Windsor/Aughtry Main@Broad Development
Greenville, SC – May 10, 2010 – The Windsor/Aughtry Company today announced that KPMG LLP, the U.S. audit, tax and advisory firm, will be among the first tenants to occupy space in its newly constructed Main@Broad development in downtown Greenville. KPMG has signed a long-term lease to occupy 8,150 square-feet of office space on the second floor of the development, which boasts sprawling views of the downtown cityscape.
Eric Schmid, managing partner for KPMG’s Greenville office, said the firm was attracted to Main@Broad for the development’s first-class property and location.
“We considered various options, but after examining all the information it became clear that Main@Broad would provide us with an environment very well suited to our professionals and one that would enable the highest level of service to our clients,” he said. “Furthermore, KPMG enjoys a long and proud history as a downtown Greenville-based business and we are pleased to continue that tradition at Main@Broad.”
Schmid said that the development’s willingness to accommodate KPMG’s recycling program was also a draw.
“KPMG is committed to developing and implementing sustainable business practices,” he said. “KPMG’s recycling program, coupled with other green initiatives in the building, will help us in our efforts to achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification and reduce our carbon footprint.”
As with all Main@Broad tenants, KPMG will have access to other building amenities, including a third floor conference room, which is fully equipped with a state-of-the-art audio visual package of flat screen televisions, surround sound stereo, and high definition, worldwide video conferencing system. The 1,000 square-foot conference room can seat up to 75 guests for meetings, luncheons or special events. Just off the conference room is a 1,000 square-foot porch overlooking Greenville’s bustling Main Street.
Charles Reyner, Broker In-Charge with Windsor/Aughtry, said the company expects this tenant announcement to be followed by others. “We are currently in discussions with several other companies – some new to the area and some relocating within the city – and are hopeful to have additional commitments soon,” Reyner said. “The connectivity between the office building, a first class restaurant and bar, the hotel and parking garage create an energetic business synergy for office tenants and their guests. We believe Main@Broad is the best location in the state of South Carolina and are confident that our tenants will reap the benefits of our first-class amenities and location.”
