(Greenville, SC, May 14, 2010) Phillips Staffing, with 12 offices in the Southeast, is generally seeing the same employment trends locally--that were identified nationally--in a survey of 2,778 hiring managers and human resource professionals forecast for the second quarter of 2010.
The survey by Harris Interactive, on behalf of CareerBuilder and USA Today, points out that even though companies overall have been hesitant to accelerate hiring of permanent staff, there is increased activity in these areas:
• Contract workers -25% plan to hire contract/freelance workers;
• Internships-Almost 24% plan to hire interns;
• Social media-9% plan to hire a new employee for social media efforts;
• Bi-lingual candidates-33% plan to hire these workers.
“Phillips’ broad reach into SC and GA, and our range of services--staffing, human resources and professional placement--has allowed us to monitor companies’ needs and respond to them,” said Phillips CEO Blanton Phillips.
“This survey and our company activity and data confirm that our local companies are following a very similar pattern—which is a positive when looking at our area’s economic future,” said Phillips President Ed Parris.
